A Proposal

To make up for the last post, which was exceedingly depressing, here is a re-post of my engagement story :). It was a great day. Best "yes" of my life.

1 March 2008, Saturday

2:30 p.m. - Chauffeured by Jasper Abbott to Woodward Park in Dr. McConnell's red convertible. Received a bouquet of red roses.
3:00 - Wine and four-cheese picnic with prosciutto ham and two loaves of bread in Woodward Park with apples, grapes, pears, blackberries and three kinds of chocolate for dessert.
4:30 - Dress shopping at White House Black Market in Utica Square (and drinks at Starbucks).
6:20 - Trespassed into Chandler Park, watched the sun set and the stars come out. Wild geese flew by and the city lights sparkled on the river.
7:00 - Singing at a bridge over the river with the water rushing by and a fountain in the background.
8:00ish - Four course meal at the French restaurant, the Brasserie, that was not on the menu. Prepared for us by executive chef Justin Thompson. The meal included: baked crisps with apple and pear chutney, micro greens and a port reduction; sea scallops with white truffle sauce; beef tenderloin entree with baby spinach leaves and russet potatoes and a red wine; chocolate cake with chocolate sauce, glazed chestnuts and espresso ice cream.
10:30abouts - A courtyard outside of the Brasserie, a water fountain, and a box with a ring.
10:31 - YES!
11:00 Celebrated at John Knorr's with lots of friends (everybody knew I was being proposed to!). Matt Matlock played guitar for us :).

P.S. Funny note: when Andrew said we were going to go pick out a dress for me, my very first thought was, "THANK GOD I shaved my legs this morning." Truth.
